Valle Gran Rey is a small municipality located west of La Gomera. Its mild climate, beautiful beaches and spectacular sunsets make this place an ideal place to spend a different holiday.


In this municipality, despite being a quiet place, there are many places that are a must. Some of these sites are scattered along this beautiful valley, such as the viewpoints, and others are just a few minutes walk away.

Places not to be missed

Located just in front of the Casa Domingo Apartments and a minute’s walk from the accommodation, this black sand beach is one kilometer long.

The Charco del Conde Beach is less than a kilometer from the Casa Domingo Apartments. It is a small black sand beach, protected from waves by volcanic rock, forming a natural pool when the tide goes down. It is an ideal beach for children as the depth in the water is minimal.

A little more than a kilometer from Casa de Domingo, it is a pleasant beach located next to the port of the same name. It is protected from the waves thanks to a dam, making it a safe beach for children and adults to take a bath.

It is a bronze statue of Hautacuperche, an aboriginal warrior from Gomera who was protagonist of the rebellion of the Gomeros in 1488, ending the life of Hernán Peraza, the young lord of the island during the conquest of the Canary Islands.

It is a small museum in the neighborhood of La Calera that reviews the history of the people who helped build the town of Valle Gran Rey.

It is a black sand beach that is protected by cliffs. It is an idyllic place to enjoy one of the best sunsets in the Canary Islands.

In La Gomera you can find numerous viewpoints where you can enjoy the natural views. In Valle Gran Rey we recommend visiting El Palmarejo, El Santo and La Curva del Queso.

This natural salting is filled by filtering water according to the tides. It is a site of scientific interest, as it is a transit point for migratory birds.
